State-of-the-Art Report

The analysis of needs includes interviews with relevant stakeholders and companies to identify the main challenges, problems and/or areas of lack of knowledge that companies in the different countries face specifically due to an ageing workforce. There were experts in the field of age management, advisors, consultants and representatives of SMEs, leaders and HR managers involved. The results have been combined into National Reports. Based on those, there was a summary of needs, comparing the results of each partner country and creating a final collection of identified needs (Comparative Report) developed. It was necessary to know perfectly the current state-of-the-art of age management in SMEs in order to prepare educational materials for the exact needs of the target users.

Examples of Best Practices

In this case, collections of best practice (BP) examples from all partner countries were gathered among companies, their methods and measures towards employees over 55 years of age that address the differences of this age group and use age management methods to create a better working environment for this group. They are presenting the examples to others to motivate and inspire them to act in a similar way.

Adaptation Guidelines for Companies

The guidelines were prepared for the usage of SMEs owners, company leaders, managers, HR managers, leading figures etc., in order to know how to adapt to changing age structure of their employees and how to create a better environment in the workplace for people of higher age. The aim of the guidelines is to offer step by step guide for companies on how to implement new age-management measures (for example time management and flexibility, buddy programme with younger colleagues, non-age discriminating job offers, motivating bonus systems, communication, etc.), and what is necessary to consider before doing so.
